Heat Transfer Labels
Vu Thua develops custom heat transfer labels for apparel, bags, backpacks and caps. We review the design, fabric and intended use to select a screen printed, shaped, flock or reflective construction.
What is a heat transfer label?
A heat transfer label is applied using the temperature, pressure and time specified for its construction. It may be a printed transfer or a shaped detail with a heat-activated bonding layer. Labels can be flat or raised, depending on the artwork and selected process.
The right option depends on fabric properties, stretch, label position, the desired appearance and the finished product's care requirements. A construction that works on one fabric needs reassessment when the fabric or finish changes.
Heat transfer label options at Vu Thua
Screen printed transfers
Screen printed heat transfer labels can be considered for logos, lettering and information labels. Artwork detail, colour layers and order quantity help determine the proposed construction.
Raised PU and silicone details
Compare high density PU labels, coloured silicone labels and 3D silicone labels. The material, profile, surface effect and application method are agreed during sample development.
Flock and reflective effects
Flock labels offer a velvet-like surface. Screen printed reflective labels combine reflective areas and coloured graphics. Where a safety standard is specified, check the exact material code, construction and applicable documentation.
Screen printing, laser cutting and silicone moulding
Vu Thua uses screen printing, laser cutting and silicone moulding for different label constructions. The process is selected around the design, actual material and finishing requirements.
Vector artwork helps review cut paths and fine details for laser cutting. Small lettering or complex outlines may need a physical cutting trial before a quotation is confirmed. Moulded silicone designs require agreement on the raised profile and mould construction.
Test on the actual garment fabric
Send the actual fabric, especially when it has high stretch or a special finish. Confirm application conditions through a trial and assess appearance, edges, adhesion and the agreed care requirements. One sample result does not apply to every fabric or label construction.
Sampling and ordering process
- Send the design, dimensions, colours, quantity, fabric and intended use.
- Review the material and process and identify details that need adjustment or trial.
- Confirm the layout and develop samples; perform a cutting trial if needed.
- Check the sample on the actual fabric or product and approve the agreed criteria.
- Confirm the order, packing and delivery plan before production.
Information for an accurate quotation
- AI, CDR, EPS, SVG or vector PDF artwork, with lettering converted to outlines.
- Width and height, quantities by artwork and colour, and the colour reference.
- Fabric details, stretch, finish and the intended application position.
- Desired profile or surface effect, required tests and the date you need the goods.
A photograph can explain the appearance, but it does not fully replace artwork for cutting assessment. If you do not have vector files, send a clear image or original sample so Vu Thua can discuss what is needed next.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order quantity?
The order conditions depend on material, process and label construction. Laser-cut designs can be discussed for sampling or smaller orders; tooling, colour preparation and special materials are reviewed separately for each design.
How long do samples and production take?
Timing is agreed after reviewing the design, quantity, material availability and required checks. Provide your required dates so Vu Thua can assess the delivery plan.
How many washes can the labels withstand?
Washing performance depends on the label, fabric, application conditions and test method. Agree on the required test and assess the exact construction used in the order.
