Product details

Screen printed reflective labels combine reflective areas with coloured logos or graphics. Vu Thua develops samples around the design, desired effect and actual application fabric.

Screen printed reflective labels

Screen printed reflective labels combine a reflective area with printed colours, lettering or graphics. This gives a brand detail a daytime appearance and a different effect when suitable light is directed towards it. The product photographs show a lettered logo with reflective and coloured areas; custom orders are developed from the customer's artwork.

Approve both the print and reflective effect

Reflective material returns part of the incoming light towards its source under suitable conditions. The effect depends on the material, light direction, viewing angle and printed layers. Printing over a reflective area can change the appearance, so the layout should be assessed on a physical sample.

  • Mark the areas that must reflect and those that will carry printed colour.
  • Identify colour boundaries, overlapping layers and open spaces.
  • Check the artwork at its actual size and confirm the desired daytime appearance.
  • Review the physical sample under ordinary light and the intended illuminated conditions.

Decoration and specified safety applications

Reflective logos can be considered for apparel, sportswear, uniforms, bags, backpacks, caps and accessories. A decorative reflective label is not automatically approved as protective material or certified to a safety standard.

If an order has a specified safety requirement, provide the exact material code, standard, test method and required documentation. Confirm applicability to the actual construction. For related options, see our reflective product range.

Artwork and quotation requirements

  • Vector artwork in AI, CDR, EPS, SVG or vector PDF format, with outlined lettering.
  • Finished dimensions, colour references and quantities by design.
  • A clear separation of reflective, printed and open areas.
  • The actual fabric, its colour and stretch, any surface finish and the application position.
  • Required tests, packing instructions and the sample or delivery deadline.

Sampling workflow

  1. Review the design, intended reflective areas and technical requirements.
  2. Agree on the layout and proposed material construction.
  3. Develop a physical sample and assess the print and reflective effect.
  4. Trial the transfer on the actual fabric and check appearance, edges and adhesion.
  5. Approve the sample and confirmed requirements before production.

Application and inspection

Use the temperature, time, pressure and peel method confirmed for the label construction. Stretch fabrics, dark dyed fabrics and special finishes require separate trials. Check the daytime print, illuminated appearance and adhesion against the agreed sample criteria.

Frequently asked questions

Can reflective transfers include several printed colours?

Several colours can be assessed. Print layers and their effect on reflective areas need to be checked through sample development.

Can a phone photograph measure the reflective performance?

A photograph is influenced by flash, angle and camera settings. Use the physical sample for appearance approval and the specified test method when a measured result is required.

Is the label certified for safety clothing?

Do not assume certification from a reflective appearance. Confirm the material code, label construction and applicable test documentation for that specific order.
