Product details

Flock labels add a soft, velvet-like surface to logos and graphics. Vu Thua develops samples around your artwork, colour reference, finished size and actual fabric.

Flock labels for a velvet-like surface

Flock labels use a short fibre surface to give logos and graphics a soft, velvet-like feel. They provide a different visual and tactile effect from a flat printed transfer. The finished edge, surface height and colour are assessed against the design and approved sample.

Review the logo at its finished size

The product photographs show a shaped flock label with open areas in the design. When developing a new logo, check lettering, line thickness and narrow spaces at the actual application size. Dense detail may need adjustment to keep the shape clear.

  • Specify the width, height and outline of the label.
  • Provide the required colour reference and identify areas that need different colours.
  • Describe the intended surface effect and supply a reference sample if available.
  • Confirm the garment position and the fabric to which the label will be applied.

Applications and related options

Flock can be considered for logos on T-shirts, sweatshirts, uniforms, caps, bags and other fabric accessories where a soft surface is part of the design. Sample suitability depends on the material, application position, stretch and intended care conditions.

See the flock label category for this product family, or compare other constructions in our heat transfer label range.

Prepare a sampling request

  • Send AI, CDR, EPS, SVG or vector PDF artwork with outlined lettering.
  • List quantities by artwork and colour, including any sampling requirements.
  • Send the actual fabric and identify the intended label position.
  • State appearance, adhesion, washing or rubbing checks required for the finished product.
  • Provide the sample deadline, delivery requirement and packing instructions.

Develop and approve the sample

  1. Review the artwork and discuss fine details, colour and the intended flock surface.
  2. Confirm the layout and develop a sample.
  3. Trial the label on the actual fabric using the agreed application method.
  4. Check the surface, edges and adhesion against the agreed criteria.
  5. Approve the sample before confirming bulk production.

Care and handling

Avoid sharp objects and unnecessary abrasion when handling the fibre surface. Washing, drying and ironing instructions must suit the approved label and garment. Do not assume that performance on one fabric represents every fabric or finish.

Frequently asked questions

Are flock labels and velvet labels the same?

These terms are commonly used for labels with a short, velvet-like fibre surface. The actual construction should still be confirmed from the sample.

Can flock reproduce small lettering?

That depends on the overall dimensions, line thickness and spaces in the artwork. Send a vector file for assessment before choosing the final size.

How do we approve the colour?

Send a colour reference or physical standard. Confirm the colour on a physical flock sample, as screen settings and lighting can change its appearance.

Request a custom flock label sample
