Where is a zipper cover used?
The sample photographs show a shaped surround with a long central opening. When developing a cover for your design, the outer dimensions and opening must match the zipper, pocket construction and assembly position of the style. The sample is a reference; specifications are agreed separately for each order.
Define the drawing and dimensions
- Outer size: overall length, width and outline.
- Zipper opening: length, width, end shape and position within the drawing.
- Surround: width along each edge and clearance to seams or the pocket edge.
- Colour and finish: references to compare with the fabric, zipper and other trims.
- Brand details: any logo or decoration to assess during development.
Mark dimensions in millimetres or send an original sample that can be measured. A photograph explains the shape but does not establish scale or production tolerances.
Check the cover with the actual zipper and fabric
Provide the zipper, fabric and a photograph of the intended position. Seams, multiple material layers and uneven surfaces should be reviewed during sample development. Confirm both the material construction and attachment method for the order.
For a heat-applied construction, trial it on the actual assembly. Assess the edges, adhesion and the effect of pressing around the zipper. The approved cover position must allow the zipper to operate as intended.

- Send a drawing or original sample, outer and opening dimensions, colour, quantity and required dates.
- Provide the fabric, zipper and assembly or application requirements.
- Agree on the shape, construction and details requiring adjustment.
- Develop a sample and trial the fit on the actual product.
- Approve the dimensions, finish, attachment and inspection criteria before production.
Assess the finished sample
Check the balance of the surround, opening size, zipper fit and position on the product. Agree on washing, abrasion or bending checks where the application requires them. If you are developing matching brand details, compare PU heat transfer labels and the heat transfer label range.
